At this show, in October of 2018, HCC introduced their Young Numismatist Club, with whom Talisman & Coiner had the pleasure to be seated next to. HCC also had Scouts and other youth groups who participated.

The National Battlefield Coin Show, also know as "Battlefield Coins", is held twice each year at the Eisenhower Convention Center in Gettysburg, PA.

Battlefield Coins is a division of Hobbies Unlimited, and is not directly related to a coin club, as many coin shows are.

It is run by Michael, Mike, Dixon, President, and William, Bill, Waltman, V.P. of Communications. The enterprise was launched in 2013.

May '19 Monroeville, PA (near Pittsburgh)

Talisman & Coiner were invited to give our talks about the themes of Money, Mayhem and Might at the spring coin show held by the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists (PAN) in Monroeville, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Their bi-annual shows attract approximately 100 coin dealers from around the country.

This was an exceptionally busy show, and has been part of the regional coin collecting experience since 1978.

08/09 - 08/11 Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

The Talisman & Coiner team headed off to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 11th, to meet and greet sutlers, minstrels and reenactors at the Renfrew Park Civil War Reenactment. The duo talked up the coming book "Money, Mayhem and Might" with folks who are deeply interested in living history. This weekend's lovely weather provided the setting for sharing the experience with comrades portraying soldiers of the north and south — culminating on Sunday with a skirmish accompanied by the concussion of cannon. The Talisman & Coiner Duo have given talks and presentations around the mid-Atlantic region from last September through May of this year. For the most part, we have been in areas that embrace the theater of the Civil War in and about West Virginia, Western Maryland and Western Pennsylvania. This includes Shepherdstown, WV, Harpers Ferry, WV, Harrisburg and Gettysburg, PA and Washington County, MD.

Our talks have always featured images and story rich power point presentations, ample displays, as well as, food and treats graciously provided by local vendors. The photos below include a few examples of money from the Civil War era, and other curiosities as we have come across them.
